Born in Hunan, Haibo Xiao is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Shanghai. He navigates the landscape of architecture, photography, installations and art therapies. Haibo's works explore universal themes of self-anxiety related to physical appearance and body image, and aims to create a positive worldview centered around "self-empowerment" through the mediums of mindful photography, sculpture and interviews. Through his art, Haibo aims to challenge societal norms, celebrate diversity and imperfections, and encourage self-acceptance and self-empowerment.

Haibo’s first solo exhibition “EMPOWER” in central Shanghai reached out to over a million audiences, which inspired numerous people of different race, gender, age, personality, or sexual orientation to feel empowered to accept their imperfections.
